Let’s look closer…
Self care
“The practice of taking an active role in protecting one’s own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress.”
Self care can mean many things, my version is taking a break from social media, phones, taking that step back and paying more attention to my body, my skin, and spending quality time with family. Once you pause, and take this necessary step, your physical and mental health will flourish.
The best way to unwind after a long and busy day is to indulge yourself in a magnificent bath that is loaded with skin detoxifying and condition ingredients. Oh yes, I’m talking about HuGG’s Bath Salts! For some extra self-care give yourself a little mani or pedi with this dual-purpose salt soak.
Indulge
It’s always a pleasure to treat yourself. When you can’t control what’s going on around you, one thing you can control is how you look after yourself. Doing something for yourself everyday, could be big or small, can improve your mood. Buying yourself a little gift, or taking a few hours to do that activity you love will leave you feeling serene. Allow yourself to be cuddled, by you!
Stay active
Are you familiar with that good feeling rush and energy? You know, after a run or physical exercise you release endorphins which leave your body feeling energized. Well having said that, it sounds like an effort to get to that great feeling, here’s where you’re wrong. Even by taking a fun dance class or joining a sports team or literally about any pass time that involves you being active will get you feeling that way.
Do what you love
When you’re not at your best, it may be tricky finding the energy and motivation to do what you would usually enjoy. In moments of the sort, it’s even more crucial to connect with yourself and do what you love.
- Have happy thoughts
- Do simple things, such as watching an episode of your favourite TV show or listening to some of your favourite songs.
- Have you time! Distractions are good and help a lot, however spending time with yourself will make you stronger and more self-aware.
Focus on your strengths
Finding out and focusing on your strengths can help you feel more confident and better about yourself. If you’re struggling to come up or identify what your strong points are, ask a family member or a friend who knows you well, this will open up your eyes and make you view yourself in a different light. Once identified, work with them, and become the best version of yourself.
Stay present
Being in the moment. In the world today, how many of you actually live in the moment? And I mean without cell phones, taking in your surroundings, looking into people’s eyes, walking, eating. Staying present while doing all these normal things has become underestimated, we must be mindful, it reduces stress levels and helps people feel more focused and creative.
These are just a few factors that will give you a positive addition to your routine, additions that may seem difficult at first, however once applied you will notice a difference. A difference that will help you, discover and be your best self.
